A teen driver is behind bars after he allegedly stole a car from a Dallas nursing home and crashed it while fleeing from police.
The incident happened shortly after midnight on August 25, when authorities noticed someone in a stolen black Toyota Camry in the 1000 block of S. Buckner Boulevard. The driver reportedly fled when police tried to pull him over.
CBS DFW reports that the driver evaded the police until he ran and red light crashed into a man and woman who were in an Impala, driving near Great Trinity Forest Way and Wadsworth Drive. The couple inside the vehicle were injured during the crash and rushed to the hospital.
The male victim ultimately passed at the hospital, following the accident.

According to the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram, police subsequently arrested the teen driver, identified only as a 14-year-old. Other teens were reportedly in the car with the suspect; all have been arrested, although it’s unclear what exact charges they are facing.
Police said the teen was driving up to 100 mph during the chase.
