The parents of Gabrielle Petito’s boyfriend Brian Laundrie revealed to police on Friday that Laundrie has not been seen since Tuesday.

North Port Police Spokesperson Josh Taylor said on an appearance with Chris Cuomo on CNN Friday night that Laundrie’s parents invited police to their home on Friday evening, when they revealed that they had not seen their son since Tuesday of this week.

Gabby Petito’s mother reported her missing on September 11, more than two weeks since she last spoke to her daughter via FaceTime. Petito and Laundrie had been on a cross-country road trip this summer, and Petito’s last known location was in or near Grand Teton Park in Wyoming.

“They’ve called us there this evening and claimed they had not seen their son since Tuesday e,” Taylor said on CNN. “This is our first interaction with [Laundrie’s parents] here… We know that their son was back here in this community on September 1, she wasn’t reported missing by her family until September 10 or 11. So there’a already been a huge amount of time that he’s been back there in this community.”

Asked if the family gave him details about Laundrie’s state of mind and what he knows about Petito’s disappearance, Taylor said: “What the family knows, we need to know from them. It is very possible that they shared some of these details with them. They obviously weren’t there [on the couple’s road trip] so they would be getting his rendition, potentially, of whatever took place.”

“We would love for them to share with us what he shared to them,” Taylor said, and Cuomo jumped in: “But they still haven’t.”

North Port Police named Laundrie a person of interest in the investigation earlier this week, but have not named him a suspect or filed any charges.
